NetLib, a leading innovator of data encryption security software, is currently undergoing FIPS 140-2 Validation. This government certification will serve to further demonstrate the reliability of NetLib Encryptionizer and place increasing value on the product. FIPS, standing for Federal Information Processing Standard, are standards issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for encryption.
Becoming FIPS validated provides NetLib customers with an optimum level of assurance that their sensitive data is protected. More importantly, it guarantees that the products stated security claim is valid according to legislative security restrictions set forth by government agencies for cryptographic modules.
“Completing the FIPS validation process provides NetLib with not only a figurative government stamp of approval, but allows companies to meet government regulations for encryption products,” explained Neil Weicher, NetLib president.
Weicher emphasized the adequate and in-depth testing that takes place during the FIPS process should reassure customers that by purchasing NetLib Encryptionizer they are receiving “top of the line” security and data protection. He states, “NetLib Encryptionizer is the only cryptographic module that offers two forms of encryption, while simultaneously enabling companies to meet this certain standard of security protection issued by FIPS 140-2 certification.”
NetLib expects the government certification to be approved and issued by the fall of this year.
