Encryptionizer for SQL Server and MSDE: Technical Specs
SQL Server Versions
Encryptionizer can add security to the following versions of SQL Server:
- SQL Server 2008 R2 (Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup, Web, Express)
- SQL Server 2008 (Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup, Web, Express)
- SQL Server 2005 (Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup, Express)
- SQL Server 2000 (Enterprise, Standard, MSDE)
Windows Versions
Encryptionizer is supported on the following operating systems:
- Windows 2008 R2 Servers (x64)
- Windows 2008 Servers (x86, x64)
- Windows 2003 Servers (x86, x64)
- Windows 2000 Servers (x86)
- Windows 7 (x86, x64)
- Windows Vista (x86, x64)
- Windows XP (x86, x64)
Encryption Algorithms
You can choose among the following encryption algorithms for whole database encryption or column encryption. You can even choose different algorithms for each. We will be adding new algorithms as required by customers.
- DES (Data Encryption Standard)
- Triple DES (also known as 3DES or DES3) with two or three keys
- Blowfish
- AES
Key Length
Encryptionizer allows you to select encryption key lengths of 64, 128, or 256 bits (8, 16, and 32 bytes respectively). The international version is limited to 128 bits. 256-bit International version may be available upon request. Media/File Systems
Encryptionizer allows SQL Server to work with encrypted databases on the following file systems/media types:
- FAT
- FAT32
- NTFS
- CDROM/DVD
- RAW
